Northline Surface Co. began in 2014 when a small team of Aberdeen decorators decided to focus on careful preparation and durable, understated finishes. Working from a modest unit off King Street, we took on early projects in granite tenements where breathability and tidy detailing mattered more than speed. That ethos remains: measure twice, paint once, and leave a calm result.

As new flats appeared around the city centre and the harbour, our work expanded to modern interiors with tight deadlines. We learned to schedule efficiently, coordinate with concierge teams and keep sites liveable for residents and tenants. Today, our mix is balanced: traditional stone homes in the West End, slender new-build apartments near the beach, and landlord portfolios across Aberdeen.

The style we favour is restrained and northern in tone. Soft greys, clean whites and deep greens suit the light here and sit well next to granite. But restraint never means cutting corners. We invest time in substrate checks, moisture readings where needed and the right priming systems. The finish looks simple because the groundwork is solid.
